Anna Daan Seva
In Vedic culture, Anna Daan is Maha Daan — the greatest of all charities. When you feed a hungry soul, you are not merely filling an empty stomach; you are offering service directly to the Supreme Lord, for He resides in every living being as the Supersoul.
annād bhavanti bhūtāni, parjanyād anna-sambhavaḥ
yajñād bhavati parjanyo, yajñaḥ karma-samudbhavaḥ
— Bhagavad-gītā 3.14 · “All living beings subsist on food. Food comes from rain, rain from sacrifice, and sacrifice is born of righteous action.”
Nourishing Bodies,
Elevating Souls
Food for Life (FFL) is the world’s largest vegetarian food relief programme, initiated by ISKCON’s Founder-Ācārya, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda. One day, upon seeing impoverished children fighting stray dogs over scraps of food, Śrīla Prabhupāda was deeply moved. He immediately instructed his disciples: “No one within ten miles of a temple should go hungry.” That moment gave birth to a movement that today serves millions of meals daily across more than 65 countries.
At ISKCON Guwahati, we carry this mission forward. Every meal we prepare is first offered to Lord Krishna and accepted as prasādam — sanctified food imbued with His grace. When you donate, your contribution flows into the purchase of groceries, cooking, and transporting these sacred meals to the doorsteps of those who need them most.
“There has never been, nor will there ever be, any gift equal to the gift of food.”

Who We Serve
The Elderly
Senior citizens at old-age homes and families of patients camped outside Guwahati’s hospitals — often surviving on little or nothing — receive a warm, wholesome prasādam meal through our daily distribution.
The Children
Children from orphanages, government-run shelters, and streets across Guwahati receive sattvic prasādam — often the only proper meal of their day — prepared with love and devotion.
The Needy
From daily street-feeding drives to large-scale Assam flood relief, our devotees reach every place where hunger exists — in slums, disaster zones, and vulnerable communities throughout Northeast India.
Feed the Elderly
Loneliness and hunger often walk hand-in-hand for Guwahati’s elderly. Patients’ families sleeping on hospital floors near GNRC, Gauhati Medical College, and Nemcare — forgotten senior citizens at old-age homes — a warm plate of prasādam is often the only kindness they receive all day.
Your donation brings the mercy of Lord Krishna directly to these souls. Every meal we serve is first offered to the Lord — making you a participant in a timeless act of devotion and compassion.

Feed the Children
A child’s smile after a warm meal is among the most sacred sights in creation. Thousands of children across Guwahati — in orphanages, government-run children’s homes, and on the streets — face each day uncertain whether they will eat.
Śrīla Prabhupāda always said, “If you feed a child, you feed God.” Through your generosity, our devotees reach these children with freshly prepared, sattvic prasādam — carrying with it the love and blessings of Lord Krishna.

Feed the Community & Needy
Hunger does not discriminate. In the aftermath of Assam’s devastating annual floods, in slums, at construction sites, and in disaster-affected villages — our devotees carry prasādam wherever the need is greatest.
Lord Krishna says in the Bhavishya Purāṇa: “The world, animate and inanimate, is sustained by food. The giver of food is the giver of life and indeed of everything else.” Your donation empowers us to reach hundreds, even thousands, at a time.
